Liebe Bi+Community, liebe Unterstützer:innen, liebe alle,
wer mir auf der schon mal auf der Pride Week begegnet ist, wird wissen, dass diese Termine für mich zu den Highlights im politischen Jahr zählen.
Umso mehr freue ich mich, dass dieses Jahr hier in Hamburg auch die erste Bi+Pride Deutschlands stattfindet und abermals ein wichtiges Zeichen für Toleranz und gegen Diskriminierung setzt.
Bereits seit 1980 finden bei uns in der Stadt der Christopher Street Day, oder anfangs noch die so genannten Stonewall-Demonstrationen statt.
Damit ist die Community für viele außerhalb überhaupt erst sichtbar geworden.
Aber auch sichtbar anders. Und stolz darauf.
Viel zu lang wurde die LGBTQI+ Community in Deutschland und auch hier in Hamburg ausgegrenzt und auch heute sind wir noch lange nicht am Ziel.
Umso wichtiger, dass solche Veranstaltung wie diese heute zu Traditionen werden, die weit über die Community hinaus sichtbar sind. So setzen wir Zeichen, so bekennen wir Solidarität und Unterstützung. Wenn man so will, bekennen wir uns für das unverstellte Menschsein, auf das alle Menschen ein Grundrecht haben.
Bi+Sexualität ist oftmals unsichtbar. Sie wird übersehen, ignoriert, angezweifelt oder gar verleugnet. In der Gesellschaft, aber auch auf Pride Veranstaltungen wie dem CSD gehen Bi+Sexuelle viel zu oft unter. Das brauchen ich Ihnen nicht zu erzählen. Denn, und wir kennen das Thema aus der Genderdebatte, nur weil Bi+ im Pride-Regenbogen mitgemeint ist, heißt es nicht, dass Bi+ auch wirklich immer mitgedacht und mitgesehen wird. Das muss sich ändern! Diese Bi+ Pride heute ist ein wichtiger Schritt auf diesen Weg.
Dass sich junge Menschen mittlerweile statistisch viel häufiger unter dem Bi+ Regenschirm identifizieren, zeigt, dass dies für viele Jüngere gelebte Normalität ist. Aber es lässt auch erahnen, wie viele Mitglieder älterer Generationen sich das immer noch nicht trauen.
Bis heute sind auch bi+sexuelle Jugendliche seltener geoutet als homosexuelle. Wir müssen dafür sorgen, dass diese Jugendlichen starke Vorbilder haben und Berührungsängste mit dem Thema in unserer Gesellschaft abgebaut werden.
Das bedeutet, dass das Thema Bi+Sexualität zum Beispiel auch Teil der Aufklärung an Schulen sein muss. Sexualität darf nicht mehr als hetero und homo vermittelt werden, sondern als Spektrum. Binarität ist ein verstaubtes Modell. Nicht nur in Hollywood – sondern auch in Hummelsbüttel.
Wir müssen einen sicheren Hafen für Bi+Sexuelle und die gesamte LGBTQI+ Community bieten, in einer Welt, in der Diskriminierung aufgrund von sexueller und geschlechtlicher Identität immer noch an der Tagesordnung ist.
Es ist ein Unding, dass bi+sexuelle Männer immer noch kein Blut spenden dürfen. Immerhin – es bewegt sich etwas. Eine neue Bunderegierung, muss sich dafür einsetzen, jede Form von Diskriminierung abzuschaffen.
Oder, dass bi+sexuelle Personen im Asylrecht nicht als schutzbedürftig anerkannt werden. Das kann und darf nicht sein!
In Artikel 3 des Grundgesetzes heißt es:
„Niemand darf wegen seines Geschlechtes, seiner Abstammung, seiner Rasse, seiner Sprache, seiner Heimat und Herkunft, seines Glaubens, seiner religiösen oder politischen Anschauungen benachteiligt oder bevorzugt werden.“
Das ist Mahnung und Auftrag zugleich. Denn formal dürfte es all diese Diskriminierungen gar nicht geben.
Aber es gibt sie noch immer. Und die „sexuelle Orientierung“ fehlt noch immer in dieser Aufzählung. Denn auch sie führt noch immer zu Benachteiligungen.
Wir wollen ein Sprachrohr bieten, zuhören, aufklären, dazulernen und offen sein. Wir als Gesellschaft müssen die Bühnen bauen, auf denen queere und insbesondere bi+sexuelle Menschen nicht nur akzeptierter und sichtbarer werden, sondern auch Hauptrollen spielen, Vorbilder sind.
Ihre Liebe muss endlich als gleichwertig und real anerkannt werden. Sie alle verdienen es, sie selbst sein zu können ohne „wenn“ und „aber“, ohne hinterfragt und übersehen zu werden. Bis das so ist, brauchen wir diesen Pride nicht nur heute, sondern eigentlich jeden Tag.
Deshalb seien Sie heute laut, seien Sie stark, seien Sie nicht zu übersehen. Damit sich in unserer Gesellschaft niemand mehr dafür rechtfertigen muss, bi+sexuell zu sein.
Ich wünsche eine großartige Bi-Pride, auf der Sie alle laut zu sich sagen können „be proud – yourself“
Ich bedanke mich bei allen Aktivist:innen und Organisator:innen, die die Veranstaltungheute möglich gemacht haben.
Auf viele weitere Jahre Bi+Pride hier in Hamburg und überall.
Der Hamburger Senat und ich persönlich stehen voll und ganz hinter Ihnen. Denn Hamburg ist bunt, Hamburg ist divers. Hamburg ist für alle da.

Dear Bi+Community, dear supporters, dear all,
Whoever has met me at Pride Week will know that these events are among the highlights of the political year for me.
So I am especially happy that this year the first Bi+Pride in Germany will take place here in Hamburg and once again set an important sign for tolerance and against discrimination.
Already since 1980 the Christopher Street Day, or in the beginning still the so-called Stonewall demonstrations take place with us in the city.
This is how the community became visible to many outside the city in the first place.
But also visibly different. And proud of it.
For far too long, the LGBTQI+ community in Germany and also here in Hamburg has been marginalized and even today we are far from reaching our goal.
So it is even more important that events like this today become traditions that are visible far beyond the community. This is how we set signs, this is how we acknowledge solidarity and support. If you will, we acknowledge for the genuine humanity, to which all people have a basic right.
Bi+sexuality is often invisible. It is overlooked, ignored, doubted or even denied. In society, but also at Pride events like the CSD, bi+sexuals stay unrecognized far too often. I don’t need to tell you that. Because, and we know the topic from the gender debate, just because Bi+ is included in the Pride rainbow, it doesn’t mean that Bi+ is really always thought about and seen. This must change! This Bi+ Pride today is an important step on this way.
The fact that young people now statistically identify themselves much more frequently under the Bi+ umbrella shows that this is lived normality for many younger people. But it also gives an idea of how many members of older generations still don’t dare to do this.
Up till today, bi+sexual youth are also less likely to come out than homosexual youth. We have to make sure that these young people have strong role models and that fear of contact with the topic is reduced in our society.
This means, for example, that the topic of bi+sexuality must also be part of education in schools. Sexuality must no longer be taught as hetero and homo, but as a spectrum. Binarity is a dusty model. Not only in Hollywood – but also in Hummelsbüttel.
We need to provide a safe haven for bi+sexuals and the entire LGBTQI+ community in a world where discrimination based on sexual and gender identity is still commonplace.
It is an outrage that bi+sexual men are still not allowed to donate blood. At least – something is moving. A new federal government, must work to abolish all forms of discrimination.
Or that bi+sexual persons are not recognized as in need of protection in the asylum law. This cannot and must not be!
Article 3 of the Basic Law states:
“No one shall be discriminated against or given preference on account of sex, descent, race, language, country of origin, creed, religious or political opinion.”
This is both a warning and a mandate. For formally, all this discrimination should not exist.
But they still exist. And “sexual orientation” is still missing on this list. Because it still leads to discrimination, too.
We want to offer a mouthpiece, listen, educate, learn and be open. We as a society need to build the stages where queer and especially bi+sexual people not only become more accepted and visible, but also play leading roles, are role models.
Their love must finally be recognized as equal and real. They all deserve to be able to be themselves without “ifs” and “buts”, without being questioned and overlooked. Until that happens, we need that Pride not just today, but actually every day.
Therefore, be loud today, be strong, don’t be overlooked. So that no one in our society has to justify being bi+sexual anymore.
I wish a great bi pride where you all can say loudly to yourselves “be proud – yourself”.

Querida comunidad Bi+, queridos seguidores, queridos todos,
Cualquiera que me haya conocido en la Semana del Orgullo sabrá que estas fechas se encuentran entre los momentos más destacados del año político para mí.
Me complace aún más que el primer Orgullo Bi+ de Alemania se celebre también este año aquí, en Hamburgo, y que envíe una vez más una importante señal a favor de la tolerancia y contra la discriminación.
El Christopher Street Day, o en un principio las llamadas manifestaciones de Stonewall, tienen lugar en nuestra ciudad desde 1980.
Esto ha hecho que la comunidad sea visible para muchos fuera de la comunidad en primer lugar.
Pero también visiblemente diferente. Y orgullosa de ello.
Durante demasiado tiempo, la comunidad LGBTQI+ en Alemania y también aquí en Hamburgo ha sido marginada y aún hoy estamos lejos de alcanzar nuestro objetivo.
Por ello, es aún más importante que actos como éste se conviertan en tradiciones visibles más allá de la comunidad. Así es como damos ejemplo, así es como profesamos la solidaridad y el apoyo. Asi, profesamos nuestro apoyo a la humanidad genuina a la que todas las personas tienen un derecho fundamental.
La bisexualidad suele ser invisible. Se pasa por alto, se ignora, se duda o incluso se niega. En la sociedad, pero también en los actos del Orgullo como las JSC, los bi+sexuales se pierden con demasiada frecuencia. No hace falta que te lo diga. Porque, y conocemos este tema por el debate de género, el hecho de que se incluya a las personas Bi+ en el arco iris
del Orgullo, no significa que realmente se piense y se vea siempre a las personas Bi+. Esto tiene que cambiar! Este Orgullo Bi+ de hoy es un paso importante en este camino.
El hecho de que, estadísticamente, los jóvenes se identifiquen con mucha más frecuencia bajo el paraguas Bi+ demuestra que se trata de una normalidad vivida por muchos jóvenes. Pero también da una idea de cuántos miembros de las generaciones mayores todavía no se atreven a hacerlo.
Hasta la fecha, los jóvenes bi+sexuales también salen del armario con menos frecuencia que los homosexuales. Debemos asegurarnos de que estos jóvenes tengan modelos de conducta sólidos y de que se reduzca el miedo al contacto con el tema en nuestra sociedad.
Esto significa que el tema de la bi+sexualidad, por ejemplo, también debe formar parte de la educación en las escuelas. La sexualidad ya no debe enseñarse como hetero y homo, sino como un espectro. La binaridad es un modelo obsoleto. No sólo en Hollywood, sino también en Hummelsbüttel.
Tenemos que proporcionar un refugio seguro a los bi+sexuales y a toda la comunidad LGBTQI+ en un mundo en el que la discriminación basada en la identidad sexual y de género sigue siendo habitual.
Es indignante que los hombres bi+sexuales sigan sin poder donar sangre. Al menos, algo se mueve. Un nuevo gobierno federal debe trabajar para abolir todas las formas de discriminación.
O que las personas bi+sexuales no sean reconocidas como necesitadas de protección por la ley de asilo. Esto no puede ni debe ser así!
El artículo 3 de la Ley Fundamental establece:
“No se discriminará ni se dará preferencia a nadie por razones de
sexo, ascendencia, raza, lengua, nacionalidad y origen, credo,
creencias religiosas o políticas. “
Esto es tanto un recordatorio como un mandato. Porque formalmente,
toda esta discriminación no debería existir.
Pero siguen existiendo. Y en esta lista sigue faltando la “orientación
sexual”. Porque eso también lleva a la discriminación.
Queremos ofrecer un altavoz, escuchar, educar, aprender y estar abiertos. Nosotros, como sociedad, tenemos que construir los escenarios en los que las personas queer y especialmente las
bi+sexuales no sólo sean más aceptadas y visibles, sino que también desempeñen papeles principales, sean modelos de conducta.
Su amor debe ser finalmente reconocido como igual y real. Todos merecen poder ser ellos mismos sin “si” y “peros”, sin que se les cuestione y se les pase por alto. Hasta que eso ocurra, necesitamos este Orgullo no sólo hoy, sino todos los días.
Así que haz ruido hoy, sé fuerte, que no te pasen por alto. Para que nadie en nuestra sociedad tenga que justificar nunca más ser bi+sexual.
Que tengáis un gran Orgullo Bi+ en el que todos podáis deciros a vosotros mismos en voz alta “estad orgullosos – de vosotros mismos”.
Me gustaría dar las gracias a todos los activistas y organizadores que han hecho posible el acto de hoy.
Por muchos años más de Orgullo Bi+ aquí en Hamburgo y en todas partes.
El Senado de Hamburgo y yo personalmente te apoyamos plenamente. Porque Hamburgo es colorido, Hamburgo es diverso. Hamburgo es para todos.
